LG 50PS60 50”

Up for review: LG 50PS60 Plasma HDTV. The LG 50PS60 is part of LG’s 2009 Plasma TV line-up. Although it does not have the salient features of the upgraded PS80 series, it still has the LG technology to be proud of. The slim and streamlined design gives an aristocratic look to the HDTV. And to add to it, LG provides an option for using different frame colors to blend with the ambience of your home.

Display reviews show that the LG 50PS60 features a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and an immense contrast ratio of 30,000:1. The image quality is greatly enhanced and fine details of the images come to the forefront. There is a promise of superb black levels to make the pictures stand out. The brightness is 1000 cd/sq.m which is more than enough for brilliant pictures. The LG 50PS60 also features 600 Hz Smooth Motion technology which takes care of blurring and image judder. The fast action sequences and sports events will be a treat for the eyes in the absence of judder.

The THX calibration certificate has also been awarded to the LG 50PS60 as with the 60” model. It has a dedicated THX Cinema mode which will make watching movies a better experience. Additionally, the LG 50PS60 has 4 HDMI inputs. You can enjoy your video games by connecting a video game console to the HDTV. Other high-definition devices too can be connected to the LG 50PS60.
