Fans, friends and colleagues of the late Michael Jackson attended the premiere for what would be his final bow – a music extravaganza that captures rehearsals for his canceled concert stand last summer. Michael Jackson's This Is It arrived simultaneously worldwide in the biggest cinematic blowout ever for a music film.
At the Los Angeles premiere near the arena where much of Jackson's rehearsal footage was shot, celebrities attending included Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, Neil Patrick Harris, Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr. This Is It director Kenny Ortega, a longtime Jackson collaborator, wiped away tears and greeted dancers and celebrity guests including Paula Abdul with hugs.
Many fans waited in line for days to buy tickets for advance screenings at the new Regal Cinemas, which was showing the film for its grand opening Tuesday on all 14 of its screens.
Stephanie Santoro, the former nanny for Jon and Kate Gosselin's plus eight, says she had a sexual relationship with Jon Gosselin and has documentation to prove it including "hundreds and hundreds of text messages."
Santoro says Jon threatened to sue her if she talked about their relationship with the media. She also alleges that Jon would read Kate Gosselin's e-mails and text messages. "He worked at security in IT," Santoro tells Inside Edition in an interview that will be broadcast tonight. "He knows how to do it. He bragged about knowing how to do it."
Santoro describes Jon as money-hungry and a cheat and says that he admitted he smoked marijuana while alone with the kids. Santoro also describes him as suicidal. Jon Gosselin, always shy of the standard "no comment," denied all of the former nanny's allegations to the celebrity news show.
Bob Barker, who ended episodes of The Price Is Right by asking viewers to spay and neuter their pets, donated $1 million to Drury University to establish a professorship on animal rights that he hopes will lead to a full undergraduate degree program. "I think some students would become full-fledged animal rights activists," said Barker, who graduated from the Springfield, Mo., school in 1947 with a degree in economics. "Some will become lawyers and doctors who will always be interested in animal rights. And some will have more respect for animals." Barker named the new professorship for his late wife, Dorothy Jo Barker.
